Every review below is a desk analysis of the data sheet, the UK fitted price, Octopus's compatibility list and published owner feedback. Start with our ranking if you want a recommendation, or open a review for the detail.

Which charger should you read about first?

If you are on Intelligent Octopus Go, start with the Ohme Home Pro or Ohme ePod. If you have solar panels, start with the myenergi zappi. If you simply want a ranked shortlist, read the best home EV chargers in the UK. If you are choosing between two models, the head-to-head comparisons put them side by side.

We do not claim to have tested the hardware. Each review explains its sources, flags what we could not verify and lists the owner complaints that have been published. How we research sets out the method.

A note on EO Charging

The EO Mini Pro 3 is reviewed here because many UK homes have one, but we do not recommend buying it. EO Charging’s operating company entered administration on 8 April 2026 and no manufacturer repair route has been published for installed home units. Owners should read what EO Mini Pro owners should do.

Questions people ask

What is the best home EV charger in the UK according to reviews?
On our rubric the Ohme Home Pro ranks first, with the Ohme ePod, Hypervolt Home 3 Pro and Wallbox Pulsar Max close behind. Owner surveys point the same way for Hypervolt, which topped What Car?'s 2025 survey. The full ranking is on our best home EV chargers page.
What are the top 5 EV chargers in the UK?
By our ranking, the Ohme Home Pro, Ohme ePod, Hypervolt Home 3 Pro, Wallbox Pulsar Max and myenergi zappi. The first four are very close, so choose by tariff, solar and wall rather than by rank alone.
Which EV charger does Octopus recommend?
Octopus Energy sells and fits the Ohme Home Pro, Ohme ePod and Hypervolt Home 3 Pro, plus its own Octopus Charge. Octopus's public compatibility data lists those two brands, myenergi zappi, Andersen A3, Wallbox Pulsar Max and Indra Smart PRO as generally available for Intelligent Octopus Go.
What is the lifespan of an EV charger?
We found no independent lifespan data, so warranties are the best guide. Ohme, Hypervolt, zappi, Easee and Indra give three years as standard, Tesla four, Pod up to five, Wallbox and Zaptec five and Andersen seven. A warranty is only as good as the company behind it.
