Pick the comparison that matches your decision

Most buyers are deciding between a handful of chargers. Our five comparisons cover the pairs that come up most often, and each is built from the same data as our charger reviews, so a figure on one page matches the others.

If you are weighing the two Ohme models, start with Ohme Home Pro vs Ohme ePod. If you are on Intelligent Octopus Go and torn between brands, Ohme Home Pro vs Hypervolt Home 3 Pro is the one. If you have solar panels, read Ohme Home Pro vs myenergi zappi and myenergi zappi vs Hypervolt Home 3 Pro. If you are an EDF customer considering Pod, see Ohme Home Pro vs Pod Solo 3S.

We do not claim to have tested the hardware. The comparisons rest on data sheets, UK prices, Octopus’s compatibility list and published owner feedback, as explained on how we research.

Questions people ask

Which is better, Ohme or Zappi?
Ohme is better for Intelligent Octopus Go, with a smaller unit, built-in 4G and usually a lower fitted price. The zappi is better for solar panels, thanks to its surplus-only Eco+ mode, and it offers a three-phase version. See Ohme Home Pro vs myenergi zappi.
Is Hypervolt better than Ohme?
Hypervolt has the stronger owner-survey record, the tougher case and fuller solar modes. Ohme is cheaper fitted and the better fit for Intelligent Octopus Go. We score the Ohme Home Pro 7.4 and the Hypervolt Home 3 Pro 7.2. See Ohme Home Pro vs Hypervolt Home 3 Pro.
Which is better, Ohme ePod or Home Pro?
They run the same software with the same tariff support. The Home Pro has a screen and a fixed cable, and the ePod is smaller, untethered and cheaper before you buy a cable. See Ohme Home Pro vs Ohme ePod.
