How Home EV Charger makes money
The site is free to use. We earn money in two ways, and neither of them decides what we recommend.

1. Installers pay us for quote requests
When you ask for quotes, we pass your request to up to three accredited installers who cover your postcode, and they pay us a fee for it. You pay nothing, and you don’t have to accept any quote. We never sell your details to anyone else, and we never pass them to more than three installers. How we choose installers.
2. Some links may earn a commission
Some links to retailers and suppliers may pay us a commission if you buy. They go through an address starting with /go/ so you can always spot them, and we label pages that contain them. At the moment most charger makers in the UK, including Ohme, Hypervolt and myenergi, don’t run public affiliate schemes, and energy suppliers don’t allow referral links on public websites, so most of our links earn nothing.
What money never changes
- Scores and rankings. Every charger is scored against the same published criteria. A brand can’t pay to rank higher.
- Facts. Prices, grants and tariffs come from primary sources, with the date we checked them.
- Which installers we use. Installers have to meet the same standards, whatever they pay.
